Everybody needs somebody, somebody whom is called "Friend". "A friend in need is a friend indeed." If only that kind of friends can be called "Friends", then there are only few up-to-standards for me. About friendship, we have millions of quotes to support my "saying", "Friendship is nothing but giving." But for most of the time, we're pleased with receiving things from others, instead of giving. Well, I'm not saying friendship is based on stuff-giving, but it needs emotion exchange, like "I can give you nothing but friendship", it sets up a very good example of friendship. Maybe we're too concerning about others' shortcomings, that we've missed a lot of friends-to-be. There are too many aspects about a good friend after all. So just take it easy, and let time do the rest.

Affirmations are positive statements of a desired outcome or goal. They are usually short, believable and focused. By repeating them over and over again, you build inroads into your subconscious mind, opening up the possibility of a new state of thoughts.

An important step when repeating affirmations is that you need to read your affirmations aloud with feeling. The mere reading of the words bears no consequence unless you put some emotions behind them. Of significant fact is that your subconscious mind takes any orders given in complete faith and after repeated self talk. So the daily practice of repeating affirmations is important.

Initially you may be skepticism toward the statement of your positive affirmation. However, if you follow this simple set of instructions your skepticism will soon give way to a new set of beliefs and then crystallized into absolute faith.

Researchers have found that migrating animals use a variety of inner compasses to help themnavigate. Some steer by the position of the Sun. Others navigate by the stars. Some use theSun as their guide during the day and then switch to star navigation by night. One studyshows that the homing pigeon uses the Earth's magnetic fields as a guide in finding its wayhome and there are indications that various other animals from insects to mollusks, can alsomake use of magnetic compasses. It is of course very useful for a migrating bird to be able toswitch to a magnetic compass when clouds cover the Sun; otherwise it would just have toland and wait for the Sun to come out again.

Even with the Sun or stars to steer by, the problems of navigation are more complicatedthan they might seem at first. For example, a worker honeybee that has found a rich source ofnectar and pollen flies rapidly home to the hive to report. A naturalist has discovered that thebee scout delivers her report through a complicated dance in the hive, in which she tells theother workers not only how far away the food is, but also what direction to fly in relation to theSun. But the Sun does not stay in one place all day. As the workers start out to gather thefood, the Sun may already have changed its position in the sky somewhat. In later trips duringthe day, the Sun will seem to move farther and farther toward the west. Yet the worker beesseem to have no trouble at all in finding the food source. Their inner clocks tell them just wherethe Sun will be and they change their course correspondingly.

My name is Xie Fangrui. I'm nine years old. I'm a student of class one, grade two, experimental school one.

I have big round eyes, round face and sharp chin. I'm not tall, just up to my mother's neck.

My biggest advantage is that I like to use my brain. I am used to asking why when I am in trouble? Of course, I also have the biggest disadvantage of not caring for toys. I remember when I was a kid, my father bought me a toy man. In less than half a day, I broke it.

I have many hobbies, such as: I like sports, more like long jump; I like eating fruit, most like eating watermelon

  Do you think I'm cute?

For years I wanted a flower garden. I'd spend hours thinking of different things I could plant that would look nice together.

But then we had Matthew. And Marvin. And the twins, Alisa and Alan. And then Helen. Five children. I was too busy raising them to grow a garden.

Money was tight, as well as time. Often when my children were little, one of them would want something that cost too much, and I'd have to say, "Do you see a money tree outside? Money doesn't grow on trees, you know."

Finally, all five got through high school and college and were off on their own. I started thinking again about having a garden.

I wasn't sure, though. I mean, gardens do cost money, and after all these years I was used to living on a pretty lean(贫乏的) , no-frills budget.

Then, one spring morning, on Mother's Day, I was working in my kitchen. Suddenly, I realized that cars were tooting(吹奏,狂欢) their horns as they drove by. I looked out the window and there was a new tree, planted right in my yard. I thought it must be a weeping willow(垂柳) , because I saw things blowing around on all its branches. Then I put my glasses on - and I couldn't believe what I saw.

There was a money tree in my yard!

I went outside to look. It was true! There were dollar bills, one hundred of them, taped all over that tree. Think of all the garden flowers I could buy with one hundred dollars! There was also a note attached: "IOU eight hours of digging time. Love, Marvin."

Marvin kept his promise, too. He dug up a nice ten-by-fifteen foot bed for me. And my other children bought me tools, ornaments(装饰品) , a trellis(格子,框架) , a sunflower stepping stone and gardening books.

That was three years ago. My garden's now very pretty, just like I wanted. When I go out and weed(除草,铲除) or tend my flowers, I don't seem to miss my children as much as I once did. It feels like they're right there with me.

I live up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where winters are long and cold, and summers are way too short. But every year now, when winter sets in, I look out my window and think of the flowers I'll see next spring in my little garden. I think about what my children did for me, and I get tears in my eyes - every time.

I'm still not sure that money grows on trees. But I know love does!

  Rush

Swallows may have gone, but there is a time of return; willow trees may have died back, but there is a time of regreening; peach blossoms may have fallen, but they will bloom again. Now, you the wise, tell me, why should our days leave us, never to return? - If they had been stolen by someone, who could it be? Where could he hide them? If they had made the escape themselves, then where could they stay at the moment?

I dont know how many days I have been given to spend, but I do feel my hands are getting empty. Taking stock silently, I find that more than eight thousand days have already slid away from me. Like a drop of water from the point of a needle disappearing into the ocean, my days are dripping into the stream of time, soundless, traceless. Already sweat is starting on my forehead, and tears welling up in my eyes.

Those that have gone have gone for good, those to come keep coming; yet in between, how swift is the shift, in such a rush? When I get up in the morning, the slanting sun marks its presence in my small room in two or three oblongs. The sun has feet, look, he is treading on, lightly and furtively; and I am caught, blankly, in his revolution. Thus--the day flows away through the sink when I wash my hands, wears off in the bowl when I eat my meal, and passes away before my day-dreaming gaze as reflect in silence. I can feel his haste now, so I reach out my hands to hold him back, but he keeps flowing past my withholding hands. In the evening, as I lie in bed, he strides over my body, glides past my feet, in his agile way. The moment I open my eyes and meet the sun again, one whole day has gone. I bury my face in my hands and heave a sigh. But the new day begins to flash past in the sigh.

What can I do, in this bustling world, with my days flying in their escape? Nothing but to hesitate, to rush. What have I been doing in that eight-thousand-day rush, apart from hesitating? Those bygone days have been dispersed as smoke by a light wind, or evaporated as mist by the morning sun. What traces have I left behind me? Have I ever left behind any gossamer traces at all? I have come to the world, stark naked; am I to go back, in a blink, in the same stark nakedness? It is not fair though: why should I have made such a trip for nothing!

You the wise, tell me, why should our days leave us, never to return?

Smoking should be banned Nowadays, tobacco is more harmful than drug to people's health, therefore many people think that smoking isn't banned that is a direct and primary reason to induce this kind of problem

The kite is a kite, has a long history in Chinese. There are many theories about the origin of the kite, such as hats, leaves said that the kite inspired by windblown hats, leaves, and sailing, tents, birds etc.. Although the views are not uniform, the kite appeared in China very early and has no objection. "Outside Hanfeizi Reserve said" left records "Mo-tse for three years and a wooden kite, Fei day and defeat. The disciple said: "Mr. Qiao, to make wooden kite flying."" It can be seen that there were kites in spring and autumn and Warring States period, but only for wooden. Kites have long been used for military purposes and have the function of reconnaissance, communication and even calling for help. In Liang Dynasty, Hou Jing rebellion, the emperor was trapped in the beam. The prince in the Tai Chi temple, take the northwest wind cast kites out for help, unfortunately the rebels found shot down, eventually the capital was broken. The ancient kite once the monarch system safety, this reading is really surprising.

During the Tang and Song Dynasties, kites gradually changed from military use to recreational tools, and with the development of papermaking technology, the kite became more and more. "Night sky palace static string sound, trust between wind" is the Tang Dynasty poet Gao pian in "the kite" in a poem about the kite record, "string sound sky" that the Tang Dynasty kite string, flying after Ming hair musical sound. "Ma Nao to stagger red kite, domineering due to wind kite flying Ming" is emotionally describing a leisurely Lu You, playful text confirms the flying kite, riding is an important game of children in Song dynasty. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, kite making technique and decorative art has been an unprecedented development, Qingming, fly kites in the countryside is a common fashion, will hand kite literati Magi present, emotion, is a rather elegant communicative activities.

The kite is the spring leisure interest, may also be a happy marriage wonderful association. The Qing Dynasty opera Li Yu "the kite" error is to pull a kite from the romantic story of gifted scholars and beautiful ladies. The scholar Han

Shixun poem kite, the kite line cast Qi rich mens sons, accidentally falling off to the James palace, led Han Shixun, Jenna and Qi Shi Fu story of two miss the wrong couple, ridiculous. The kite broken unintentionally and dark holding predestined marriage skillfully together, let the kite become invisible in the matchmaker, false smile edge, careful to is a little.

A fighter is always in pursuit of light. Instead of basking in the sunshine under a clear sky, he holds a burning torch in the darkness of night to illuminate people's way so that they can continue their journey till they see the dawn of a new day. It is the task of a fighter to dispel darkness. Instead of shirking darkness, he braves it and fights the hidden demons and monsters therein. He is determined to wipe them out and win light. He knows no compromise. He will keep on fighting until he wins light.

A fighter is perennially young. He is never irresolute or inactive. He plunges deep into teeming crowds in search of such vermin as flies and venomous mosquitoes. He will fight them relentlessly and refuse to coexist with them under the same sky. To him, life means nothing but continuous fighting. He either survives by winning light, or perishes with his body covered all over with cuts and bruises. In the course of the struggle, it is the "future" that serves as the beacon light to him; the "future" gives people hope and inspiration. He will never lose his youthful vigour.
